City wide hydrant flushing begins mid May and continues through late July.  Flushing the main lines ensures clean potable water to Heath residents. Some residents may experience a brief drop in pressure and/or a cloudy or rusty appearance. The appearance is temporary and not harmful in any way. If this is encountered, running a faucet will flush the water in a short time. The Southgate development is especially subject to this since several main lines are interconnected. It is advisable to not wash laundry while distribution crews or signs indicating flushing are nearby.
